The Working Mom Brain Drain: One Step to Feel Smarter Each Day

Do you ever find yourself in a rut, wondering if you’re somehow losing touch with your intellect?

Seriously, there was a time when I felt like I was getting dumber.

Like I stopped progressing at some point and all I do is work. With my job and the kids, I’m just doing the same thing day in and day out. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Amidst the juggling act of work and family, it’s easy to feel like your personal growth has hit a plateau, and each day blends into the next.

I found a simple trick so that you’re always evolving and getting smarter.

Spend 5-10 minutes each day doing something completely unrelated to your work and your household chores.

Spend 5-10 minutes doing something completely different to reconnect with yourself.

Here are a few suggestions:

1️⃣ Learn a new language.

There are tons of free apps and resources out there that can help you do that. A few minutes spent exploring a new language can not only be intellectually stimulating but also broaden your horizons.

2️⃣ Dive into audiobooks.

Immerse yourself in the world of literature with audiobooks. Whether it’s a classic novel or a self-help guide, listening to books can be both educational and entertaining.

3️⃣ Stay informed.

Dedicate your brief rest to staying updated with world news. Knowing what’s happening globally not only keeps you informed but also ensures your conversations remain relevant and insightful.

Know that you are always evolving and getting smarter.

These short daily escapes from the routine will help you reconnect with your inner self and reignite your personal development journey. In just 5-10 minutes a day, you’ll be amazed at how your sense of intellect and curiosity will flourish once more.

Take Action

Say goodbye to feeling stagnant and embrace the opportunity to grow, one small step at a time.
