Hey mama,
Let’s be real for a second—sometimes, you just don’t have it. You’re tired, the kids are sick, and you’re probably coming down with something too. You’ve been surviving on coffee and sheer willpower, and the last thing you want to do is face a big meeting, finish that report, or hit “record” for your weekly video.
But here’s the thing: You’ve still got to show up. You’ve got responsibilities, goals, and a vision that drives you. And when you’re on the struggle bus, it can be hard to push through, but you can do it. I’m here with 3 tips that will help you keep going when all you want to do is curl up with a blanket and binge-watch Netflix (don’t worry, I get it!).
1. Remember Your Why
When you’re feeling like you’re running on empty, the first thing you’ve got to do is remember your why. Why are you doing this? Why do you get up and keep going every day?
For me, it’s about empowering women—especially women in leadership. I want to see more women running the show in corporate America and more women building their own businesses. I want to make a difference, and that means showing up, even when I don’t feel 100%.
So when I don’t feel like filming a video, I remind myself that this advice, this content, this consistency—it matters. If I want to see change, I have to be part of it. It’s the same for you. Whether it’s your kids’ future, your personal growth, or your long-term goals, remembering why you’re doing what you’re doing will pull you through.
2. Glow Up (Even Just a Little)
Okay, I’ll admit it: It’s kind of shallow, but it works. When you’re on the struggle bus, do something that makes you feel a little bit better about how you look. It’s not about perfection; it’s about feeling like you’ve got this.
For me, that thing is a red lip. No matter how tired I am, when I pop on a bold lip, I instantly feel more confident. For you, it might be a killer blazer, your favorite earrings, or that hairstyle you know always makes you feel like a boss. Whatever it is, do it. It doesn’t have to take long, but it’ll make you feel a little brighter and ready to take on the day.
I know, we’re on Zoom or Google Meets constantly, and let’s be honest, sometimes we don’t like what we see. But when you take the time to put on something that makes you feel good, you’ll show up in the world with more confidence, even if you’re not at your peak.
3. Stay Hydrated (Seriously)
This one might seem like a no-brainer, but hear me out—hydration is key when you’re running on fumes. Dehydration makes everything harder. It makes you more tired, more sluggish, and less focused. And when you’re trying to juggle a million things, that’s the last thing you need.
So drink that water. Keep a bottle on your desk, set a reminder to take a sip every now and then. It doesn’t have to be fancy—just stay hydrated, mama. Your body will thank you, and so will your energy levels.

Remember your why. That’s the first and most important thing because that is what’s going to give you the energy to pull you through the day
Final Thoughts
Being a working mom means you’re always juggling a lot. Some days are harder than others, and sometimes it feels like you’re running on empty. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still show up and deliver.
When you’re on the struggle bus, remember these three things:
- Remember your why—it’s what will drive you to keep going.
- Glow up a little—do something that makes you feel good, even if it’s just for you.
- Stay hydrated—because hydration is your secret weapon for making it through the day.
You’ve got this, mama. Just keep showing up. Your goals, your vision, and your future will thank you for it.
