Delegation can be tricky. Before we can actually hand off tasks, we need to get over some beliefs that block us from considering delegation as a tool for thriving as a working mom.
Here are two of the things that I always hear from women when it comes to reasons why they don’t delegate.
#1 No one’s going to do it like them.
#2 When they hand off tasks, they’re going to be less valuable.
This breaks my heart, so let’s talk about it.
Your value is not in what you do for others.
Your value is not in what you do for others.
You are intrinsically valuable.
Having said that, I know you are extremely important in the lives of many, so here’s where delegation can help you.
Delegation is extremely important to allow you to bring your most value to the world, whether that’s doing something for others or doing something for yourself, or simply taking a moment to just be.
Take Action
By delegating, you actually free yourself up to do those more valuable activities.
Let’s take it home.
You can delegate your laundry. You can have someone else do it within your household. You can teach your kids, you can teach your husband. You can even teach them to do various steps if they can’t do the whole thing. Or you can outsource it.
When you do that, you free yourself up to actually play with your kids or to take a rest.
Delegation is extremely important to allow you to bring your value to the world, whether that’s doing something for others or doing something for yourself, or simply taking a moment to just be.
Delegation is a tool working moms can use to increase their impact on their family and on society, and also to improve their own quality of life.
What other thoughts block you from delegating?
