3 Lists You Need in Your Life (Rewards, Quick Wins, Big Goals)

Not only do we mamas have a to-do list a mile long, but we also have multiple lists – lists for work, kids, house, personal goals, food, and on and on.  

Having a lot of lists isn’t a bad thing, though it can be overwhelming. Ultimately, lists are tools that help us achieve our goals, and let’s face it, keep our sanity. 

Of all the lists you might have, whether they are written out or in your head, there are three you need in your life right now. 

These are the lists you should ALWAYS have ready on your phone, printed in your purse, and stuck in your agenda… 

Lists will help you to focus and stay on track with your plans.


Mama, when was the last time you did something good for yourself? Go ahead, I’ll wait! Part of the trouble with rewarding ourselves is that we don’t even know what to do when we get a moment to reflect on all of the awesome things we’ve accomplished. So we just keep plowing ahead… but we need to stop and pat ourselves on the back. Rewarding ourselves helps build confidence, gives closure, and recuperates us. 

So, go ahead and make a list of 10-15 big and small rewards. They could be anything from sitting alone for 10 minutes to booking a weekend staycation. Write them down! Seriously, if you are not in your car, pause this and write them down. 

Quick Wins

This is one of my favorite lists for not just feeling productive, it’s being productive and not wasting time being busy. 

A quick wins list is a list of things you can easily do when you have a moment to spare. Are there emails you need to get out (reminder, networking, or others)? Are there quick chores around the house? Do you have things you need to order online? Keep a list of all the little things you need to do, so when you have  a moment you don’t have to rack your brain remembering. You also get that rush every time you can cross one off the list. 

Big Goals 

Ah yes, of all the lists, this is the MUST HAVE. 

A big goals list keeps you focused on why you do the things you do (and decline the things you don’t). A big goals list should motivate you when you read it. It’s like a brochure for where you are headed in life. Keep this thing handy, and it will not only help you to make the tough decisions, it will also help you to stay focused and stay on track with your plans!!! 

There you have it, the three lists you need in your life. 

Sometimes we need to stop and pat ourselves on the back… it helps us build confidence.

Now it’s time to take action. 

Stop what you are doing and write these out! Put them on your phone, print a couple of copies, and put them everywhere you are – your office, your purse, on your fridge, and in your agenda. 

When you have these lists, you free up some headspace that you usually spend thinking and remembering, and you can be more productive and intentional with your time.
