It is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I wanted to share something that I do to help manage my stress each day.
As a working mom, I know you know the feeling of being overwhelmed and stressed out. Responsibilities come in from all angles, and it’s easy for them to pile up.
One of the simplest yet most significant things I do is to carve out time for self-care.
Carve out to for self-care.
I’m not talking bubble baths and spa weekends.
I am talking about taking 5-10 minutes daily to consciously do something good for myself.
I use it to remake my coffee, sit down, and actually drink it hot while I stare out the window. I find 10 minutes to read a book, step outside into the sun, and just let it shine on my face in between meetings.
Taking conscious time each day to take care of yourself helps to reduce your stress and lets you be a better person.
If you can find more time, that’s better, but just 5 minutes gives you that space so that the stress stops accumulating and you can put down some of the weight of your worries.
Taking conscious time each day to take care of yourself really helps to reduce your stress and lets you be a better person.
Just 5 minutes is enough to help you feel better. For 5 minutes each day, do something that you enjoy.
