I want to give you a little trick to get to where you want to be more quickly
How do you get what you want in life and achieve your goals faster?
The secret is to focus on and get clear about the outcome before you start taking the steps to get there.
I know that sounds obvious and intuitive, but a lot of times, we don’t do it.
Sometimes we’re too excited to take action that we move before even knowing the destination.
The other day, for example, I was thinking about my body. I’ve got this relationship with my body where some days I’m appreciative like, “Yes, I birthed two babies. Look at me!” On other days. I’m trying to pull the Spanx up and put on layers to hide myself. It goes back and forth.
At the end of the day, what’s constant is I’m always working on my body.
The secret to quickly getting what you want is to focus on and get really clear about the outcome before you start taking the steps to get there.
So the other day, something came into my mind, I thought about needing to eat fewer carbs. I didn’t feel good about my body, I thought I needed to restrict myself. Then I had a moment to pause and think about why. Why do I want to?
I want to feel good. I want to feel lighter. I want more energy to move.
I realized what really I need to do and is not actually to eat fewer carbs but to eat more vegetables and drink fewer cocktails during the week.
I took action first before being clear on what I wanted. If I didn’t pause, I would have ended up in the wrong place.
Instead, I had to get clear on my goals first. And by knowing that outcome, I completely changed the path to get there.
Understand your outcome and from there make sure that the steps you’re taking are actually going to get you there
So I just want to share with you and have you take some action around your current actions. Are you doing the right things to get the outcome that you want? Are you clear on your outcome first?
