It’s a new year, and we all know what that means – fresh starts and exciting new goals. Whether you’ve been thinking about hitting the reset button or are just ready to crush it this year, I’m here to help you make it happen.
Before anything else, remember: You can restart anytime. But since this is the popular time for goal-setting, let’s make the most of it! Here are some tips to help you make this restart effective so you can look back with pride, knowing you crushed it – or at least felt good about your progress!
1. Visualize Your End-of-Year Self
Before you even think about goals, close your eyes and picture what you want to feel and look like at the end of this year.
- What does your life look like?
- Who are you surrounded by?
- What are you achieving?
- How do you want to feel?
Take 5-10 minutes to imagine yourself at the end of the year. Feel it. The more vivid the feeling, the more powerful your goal-setting will be.
2. Write Down Your SMART Goals
Now that you’ve got that powerful visual, let’s put it into action with your goals. But not just any goals – SMART goals. What does that mean?
- Specific – Be clear.
- Measurable – How will you track it?
- Achievable – Is it realistic?
- Relevant – Does it matter?
- Time-bound – Set a deadline.
For example: “I will work out three times a week for 30 minutes, and by the end of the year, I will be able to do 15 push-ups in a row.”
It’s specific, measurable, and gives you a clear deadline. Use Google to dive deeper into SMART goals if needed.
3. Manifest Your Goals with Feeling
Take each goal you’ve written down and write a strong, positive statement about it. Use the present tense – like it’s already happening.
For example:
- “I am vibrant and full of energy.”
- “I am crushing my career.”
Post that statement where you’ll see it every day – your bathroom mirror, car dashboard, fridge, laptop, etc. Let it remind you daily of your goals, and feel the energy behind the words.
4. Check-in Regularly
Check-in with yourself weekly, if not daily, to see where you stand with your goals. Adjust if needed, but don’t let them slip.

Visualize your goals, believe in them, and take the steps to make them real.
Bottom Line
So, even if you’re juggling work, life, and everything in between, setting and achieving your goals can happen this year – with the right mindset, planning, and a little magic.
You’ve got this, Mama. Let’s make this year one of the best yet, shall we?
