How To Harness Your Power | The Savvy Working Mom

You, mama, are powerful! I mean, look at you, raising the next generation, holding down a job, keeping your house together! Very impressive. And yet, it’s so easy to lose sight of and let go of your power. Here are a few ways to reignite the superwoman within you.

Focus On What You’re Good At, Let Go Of The Rest

Choose to focus on things where you excel, put your energy and time towards those tasks. Let go of the rest. Try to delegate it, automate it. Hire a service to complete the tasks you are not good at if you can. Whatever you can do to let go of the things that you’re not great at, that aren’t a good use of your time. Let them go so that you can focus and get even better at the things you’re already naturally good at.

Get Help. Super Heroes Have Crews.

Seriously, ask for help where you need it to help you make it through the day, the week, the month, but also to help you focus on doing those things that you’re good at. Get help where you need it. Superheroes have crews. Very few superheroes are walking around saving the entire world on their own, right? They get together; they have a team, and then collectively, they’re able to do so much more. It’s the same for people; normal people, in reality, get some help.

Drop The Idea That Motivation Is Your Friend

Motivation is not your friend. It is a myth when it comes to motivation being the reason why you get stuff done. Motivation is a myth. Action is your friend. Taking action. Even small action is how you achieve and own your power. And, when you take action in those moments where you don’t feel like it, where you’re not motivated, that’s how you grow. That’s how you get stronger and your willpower and your mindset, and your confidence will all grow. So drop the idea that motivation is your friend. And instead, focus on the action of taking action.

Focus On The Journey

Pay attention, focus, and relish in the journey. Life is not about the finish line. At the finish line, we all die. That’s the finish line of life. So focus on the journey. Pay attention to what’s going on as you head towards the end. I know that’s a little morbid, but at the end of the day, it’s true. You need to focus on your journey, and as you focus on the journey, it’s going to help you to become more present, which will help you to understand what you need in the moment. Focusing on the journey is also going to help you understand where you’re growing and how you’re growing.

Practice Is Perfection

Helping you harness and own your power is to practice. Practice, practice, practice itself is perfection. Perfection isn’t real. It’s a myth, but you can perfectly practice even if you can’t be perfect. Practice, and the more you practice, the better you will become. That goes for everything, including being you. The more you practice being your true authentic self, the more you practice using your power, the better you’re going to get at it. So keep on practicing mamas.

Take Action

Now you have five different ways to harness your power. It can be hard to start all five at the same time, so I encourage you to focus on what you’re good at to get started. Write out a list of tasks that you excel at. This will be a great reminder to you of your strengths as well as a way to get you jump-started into harnessing your power.
